The Dallas Diamonds, 3-time Champions of full contact, NFL rules, women's professional football, are pleased to announce tryouts for the 2008 season. The new season brings about a bit of a springtime flair, however, as the new season begins play in April.
In the off-season, the Diamonds signed on with the highly competitive Independent Women's Football League (IWFL). This league is laden with previous champions from 2 other leagues who have now all come together to play in this one competitive forum. The Diamonds are excited to be members of the IWFL and are eager to get things rolling.
That is where YOU come in! The Diamonds will be holding open tryouts for women 18 and older on 2 dates in January. The only other requirement is that you come with proof of personal health insurance. There is a $35 tryout fee, which covers all tryouts and mini-camps. It would benefit you to come to all of the events for several reasons - so the coaches get more than one chance to look at you and so you can improve on your times, weights, drills (whatever the case may be) if you are not having your best day.
Previous football experience is not required to tryout for the Diamonds but a great work ethic and a willingness to learn are pre-requisites. All shapes and sizes are welcome, as we need athletes of all varieties from speedsters to strong linemen and skilled players. If you want to be part of a Championship team, now is your chance.
Tryouts will be held at Pennington Field in Bedford.
Tryout - Saturday, January 5th from 10am to 2pm
Tryout - Saturday, January 19th from 10am to 2pm
Minicamp - Saturday, Feb 2nd. (time to be determined)
