OPEN TRYOUT: April 28, 2007 -
Time and place to be announced!
FAQ's
about Tryouts:
Is
there a fee to tryout?
There is a one time tryout fee of $55. It covers any and all tryouts
you attend. With this you also receive a tryout t-shirt.
There
are multiple tryouts, should I attend just one?
You can attend just one tryout but it is always best to go to more
so that the coaches now your name and you have more opportunity
to show your best skills.
What
should I wear?
Dress for the weather. It may be hot or cold, be prepared. We will
be running, rolling, diving and hitting so wear proper under garments.
If it is hot, put on some sunscreen (trust me on this one). Use
the kind for sports so it stays on and does not burn your eyes.
What
kind of shoes do I need?
Bring cleats and running shoes. Full cleats or turf shoes work with
our turf. You can tryout in just running shoes, but you will tend
to slip on cutting drills. If you wear Shox you may want to not
wear those for the drills because it is easy to roll your ankle
with that higher heel on the turf.
Will
we get to hit?
Contact drills will be included but no pads are necessary.
What
should I eat for breakfast?
Eat something that will give you energy, but stay down. The McDonalds
drive-thru is probably not the best idea...unless you want to see
it again.
Do
I need to bring my own water?
Water will be provided but you might want to bring a sports drink
and a protein bar or some fruit. It is a long three hours. In the
days before the tryout, make sure you hydrate your body.
